4th of July Weekend!

Our 4th of July weekend started on the 3rd (compliments of the US Army). We spent the day of the 3rd in Kansas City. We had a blast shopping, bowling, eating, and just hanging out. We went to the Legends Mall which is an outdoor mall. The kids hit their favorite stores: Nike, Hot Topic, Adidas, and of course The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We then took a break from the heat and stepped into the Pin-Up Bowl- Martini Bar. It was actually a pretty fun place. They have 12 lanes of bowling, pool tables, and of course their famous martini bar. What was really nice was that the bowling areas didn't have those hard plastic chairs that most bowling alleys have, they had couches. Which of course I enjoyed after walking around KC. After a competitive couple of rounds of bowling we shopped around somemore then headed to dinner. We had dinner at Dave & Busters. The food was great, super yummy! And of course after dinner we had our gaming cards for their arcade. That was so fun. Calvin hit the skeeball jackpot of the day and won over 600 tickets for his one round. And I beat the banker at Deal or No Deal and won 300 tickets. By the end of the gaming period we had about 2000 tickets to spend. And of course they were spent on silly prizes. We then shopped around again and then headed home at about 10:00 pm.
On the 4th we spent most of the day at home, sleeping in during the morning and just being lazy for the afternoon. We had dinner at Famous Dave's because I had a BBQ craving. The boys were happy about that craving! Then we headed to the Junction City Sundown Salute. While there we watched the Creedence Clearwater Revisted concert. That was pretty good. We ate funnel cake, potato skins, and hot dogs. Played a couple of games. And of course finished the night off with a great fireworks show. We love going to the Sundown Salute! They always have a great concert, great fair food, and great fireworks. We're sure going to miss it when we move.
